Golden Skies Questions

What is the deal with my clerics religion?

Nothing. God's grace managed to save Eden, you are lucky he has chosen you as one of his blessed. Unless you are some strange heathen that follows the Ancient Gods, in which case the "deal" is being ejected into the stratosphere and left floating to the void beyond.

Where can we go to buy standard equipment?

Fortune is your best bet for standard equipment, but all large ports will stock a range of equipment. Most smaller settlements will and you could always scavenge off dead ships...

Where can we go to get platemail custom fitted for this monster I just befriended?

Scapula, they are used to the strange and the mutant. You could try your luck in Fortune or make a visit to the Black Factories but don't be too vocal about your new strange friend.

Who is the mightiest wizard in the land?

"Noone. There are no sane wizards left alive"...
In truth its hard to say, as it is true alot of the old wizards have gone insane or rotted inside the walls of Vol Khazul.

Who is the greatest warrior in the land?

It's hard to say, the Churches Paladins are pretty beefy, so are the pirates that skirt the edges of the Solar Winds, so are the mutants in Scapula.

Who is the richest person in the land?
Time-Keeper Orion owns hundreds of lifetimes worth of time. The Four Masters of Scapula have an entire city under their thumbs. The Lords of Fortune have riches beyond imagining in their ivory towers. And The Queens Hunting lodge houses many respectable guests, from old world princes to new world businessmen.

Where can we go to get some magical healing?
Depends how bad the wound.
Minor problems can be treated in med-bays aboard most ships. And most ailments can be solved in any port with the help of the Church or Doctors... and a lotta money
But... (see below)

Where can we go to get cures for the following conditions: poison, disease, curse, level drain, lycanthropy, polymorph, alignment change, death, undeath?
Matrons Home for the Clinically Unwell and Feebleminded specialises in treating the infirm, behind the stained glass and gothic facade is a most splendid medical facility. Consider visiting the New Forest for a spot of relaxation and terror reduction, though it is most certainly not they place for the "clinically insane or deformed".

Is there a magic guild my Magic User belongs to or that I can join in order to get more spells?
No. Absolutely not.
(Fortune has a network of newmancers, who gather scraps of chaotic magic and attempt to weave it anew, Vol Khazul has remnants of the Old World)

Where can I find an alchemist, sage or other expert NPC?
Fortune for your mechanical needs
Now for your chromancy needs
Scapula for your biochemical needs
I've heard the Queens Hunting Lodge houses a great many professionals, though they dwell there to avoid the troubles of the world so it may be best to avoid them.

Where can I hire mercenaries?
Pretty much anywhere, each port has a selection of low lives looking for an escape. If you want someone with a bit more punch you might need to send out a call for it.

Is there any place on the map where swords are illegal, magic is outlawed or any other notable hassles from Johnny Law?
Magic is illegal everywhere.
No weaponry is to be drawn in the Queens Hunting Lodge.
No time-pieces are to be taken into Now.

Which way to the nearest tavern?
Which way to the nearest port?

What monsters are terrorizing the countryside sufficiently that if I kill them I will become famous?
Pirates, Demon-Apes, Revolutionists, and whatever the Church sealed behind the Gate.

Are there any wars brewing I could go fight?
Trouble brews in Now and the Factories, but there is still mostly a time of peace

How about gladiatorial arenas complete with hard-won glory and fabulous cash prizes?
The Lower Levels of Fortune would probably be the best bet, many people clamouring for fame and money. You could try Scapula... but I don't think youd win. I heard the current champion has 4 arms.

Are there any secret societies with sinister agendas I could join and/or fight?
It wouldn't be very secret if I told you now would it...
But there are always whispers of magic and the old world and Now always needs more and more workers for its endless building.

What is there to eat around here?

Since Eden was destroyed, the culture of food has changed dramatically.

Any legendary lost treasures I could be looking for?

Where is the nearest dragon or other monster with Type H treasure?
